Niali, Apr 6: After a long gap the fear of a mysterious predator gripped Niali block of Cuttack district again on Monday after as four sheep were found dead in Baghamara village.
The sheep carcasses were found in the cattle-shed of a villager, Biranchi Das, says report.
Biranchi found the sheep dead during an inspection of his cattle-shed in the wee hours today. Deep nail indentations seen on the neck parts of the carcasses pointed at predator attack and relived the memory of mysterious animal attack in the same area four years ago.
A few other sheep were also found injured inside the same cattle-shed with injury marks on their stomach, said locals.
While the incident has left villagers in a state of panic, this is the second such incident in the area within a week. In the previous incident, at least six sheep had been found dead in a cattle-shed in a similar manner.
Locals are demanding quick action from the administration to check such incidents.
