Dharmagarh, Feb 9: In yet another case of child abandonment in the State, residents found a newborn baby from haystack in Siuni village under Koksara block of Kalahandi district on Tuesday.
As per the report, some locals who had been to attend nature’s call at a field located on the outskirts of the village heard the baby’s cry and called up ASHA workers for assistance.
The baby was then discovered from the stack and admitted to Koksara Hospital post intimation to police.
“We received the baby at around 7 am in the morning. Some ASHA workers brought it for treatment after discovery. After removal of placenta and the initial health check-up a few vaccines have also been given to the baby.
