Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary and ACS PK Mohapatra’s claim of 40 students of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) being detected Covid positive wrongfully due to defect kits has turned out to be a contentious issue with the supplier company OSKAR Medicine Private Limited completely rejecting the claim in a live demonstration.
According to information, the company has submitted proofs in a live demonstration before the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences that kits having batch numbers D 008 and D 104, which were used in testing samples of VSSUT students, are not defect at all.
The Odisha State Medicine Corporation, in a letter to the VIMSAR, has mentioned about the reports of Antigen and RT-PCR tests of the D 008 and D 104 batches conducted in ICMR, Bhuaneswar.
A live demo undertaken in the presence of VIMSAR Covid nodal head Dr Sudarshan Pothal wasl sent to the VIMSAR.
Swab samples of about 60 persons had been tested at the RCMR, Bhubaneswar on March 4 and 5 to know if kits having same batch numbers were perfect or defective. The reports were also aligned with tests done through RT-PCR and KOBAS 6800. Not a single kit was found defective. The kit sets used in these tests also included two sets sent by the VIMSAR.
