As per the order, the zero-hour celebration at hotels, clubs, convention halls, Kalyan mandaps etc. on the eve of New Year 2021 has been prohibited by the BMC to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Large gatherings for zero night celebration at any other place coming under the BMC’s jurisdiction are not allowed, it added.
However, the civic body has advised the people to celebrate the New Year with their family and friends at their private house or establishments with strict adherence to COVID guidelines.
To date, as many as 31,555 people under BMC area have been tested for positive for COVID-19 out of which 30,995 Covid patients have recovered while 238 people succumbed to the virus.
Currently, Bhubaneswar has 301 active cases.
