The festival falls on September 1 and Nabanna (Prasad of new cooked rice) would be offered to the deities between 10.54 am and 11.08 am on the day.
The Nabanna Time Deciding Committee of the Jyotish Pandit Mahasabha calculated the time on behalf of the Patana Maharaja Household Office, informed royal family’s priest Santosh Das.
It may be noted that Nuakhai is an agrarian festival observed amid much serenity and religious fervour in the entire western Odisha to thank the presiding deities for giving a good crop harvest and to pray her for overall prosperity and happiness of respective family members.
