“As many as 23.65 lakh children aged between 15 and 18 years will be immunized in the State. The Centre has issued a list of beneficiaries and the registration process for the teens will begin from January 1 and the immunization process will start from January 3,” Panigrahi told reporters.
The district administrations have been asked to set up vaccination centres as per requirement. If needed, immunization camps will be set up in schools, Panigrahi added. “The children aged between 15 and 18 will be given Covid jabs in the first half and other beneficiaries will get vaccine in the afternoon,” he added.
Parents have been asked to accompany their children during immunization, the H&W Director said.
This apart, 10,47,400 senior citizens, aged over 60 years will take the jabs and as many as 7,05,000 frontline worriers will be administered with anti-Covid vaccine.
