Puri, Dec 23: The Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted raids at different places associated with an Anganwadi worker in Odisha’s Puri district on charges of amassing property disproportionate to her known sources of income.
Simultaneous raids were conducted at seven places linked to Sandhyarani Bhatta, an Anganwadi worker at Akshayadham Anganwadi Center, Baselisahi, Puri, an official said.
On the strength of search warrant issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, officers of the anti-corruption agency carried out raids at the residential house of Bhatta’s father where she and her family members are staying, an asbestos-roofed house located at Akshaya Dham fish market, Baselisahi, an asbestos-roofed house constructed over plot no. 2411, Khatami no. 2656, Samanta, Puri, a three-storey building at Hatisal, Lokanath Road, Puri, a single storied building located at her in- laws’ house at Hatasahi, Bantalasingh, Puri, office of her husband Pravat Mishra located at Delaware, Puri, and the Anganwadi Center, he added.
The total valuation of his movable and immovable properties was not estimated as raids were underway till the report was filed.
Yesterday, the Vigilance officials detected disproportionate assets worth Rs 2.25 crore from Namita Dalei, an Anganwadi worker of Ward no 9 in Berhampur city.
