Bhubaneswar, Jun 9: The Odisha Cabinet, which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday, approved 174.5-km-long four-laning Biju Expressway connecting the western and southern parts of the State.
The State Cabinet approved as many as 11 proposals, informed Chief Secretary Suresh Kumar Mohapatra.
The four-laning Biju Expressway would be built through EPC contract at a cost of Rs 448.02 crore, said the Chief Secretary.
Among major proposals, the Cabinet nodded construction of a box culvert carriage road over main drain No-1 from Pattapola to Matrubhawan in Cuttack city. The project would come up at a cost of Rs 450.44 crore. The work is scheduled to start by July 1, 2021 with scheduled completion date of December 31, 2022.
Besides, the State Cabinet has also approved restructuring of the cadre of the Odisha Administrative Service and amendment of Odisha Taxation and Account Service Rules, 2011.
