Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: The Odisha Cabinet is likely to approve as many as 25 proposals at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday.
The meeting which will be held at Odisha Lok Seva Bhawan at around 6 pm will have the presence of all ministers and senior officials.
Proposals which will be tabled for approval in the meeting includes those of some key departments like Panchayati Raj, SSEPD MSME, Health and General Administration. All these departments could witness cadre rule amendment during this Budget Session.
Similarly, amendment proposals regarding Odisha Auditor Services Rules and BPUT cadre rule could also get the nod of the cabinet during today’s meeting.
A proposal for setting up of a Centre of Excellence for the persons with disability is also on the list.
Ahead of the Cabinet meeting, the CM will also chair a meeting of the Council of Ministers, where the draft annual budget for the year 2021-22 will be presented for approval.
Keeping in view the badly hit infrastructure projects due to the Corona outbreak, the annual budget may witness an increase in the size to Rs 1.75 lakh Crore from last year’s 1.5 lakh Crore to cater to the expenditure need in the same. The health infrastructure may also get a boost in the budget outlay this year, says report.
Odisha annual budget 2021-22 will be presented by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari in the State Assembly on February 22.
