Rourkela, Mar 6: A 70-year-old contractual doctor at the Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) here in Odisha tested Covid-19 positive days after taking second dose of vaccine, officials sources said on Saturday.
According to sources, the senior doctor had received first dose of Covishield on January 16 and second on February 15.
As the doctor fell ill few days ago, he took rapid antigen test on March 3 in which he tested positive for Covid-19.
The doctor was immediately home isolated.
RT-PCR test of the doctor was also conducted which came positive on March 4, sources added.
The vaccination coverage of people over 60 years of age has crossed one lakh mark in Odisha on Thursday, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department.
More than 18,000 senior citizens were vaccinated against covid-19 in the State yesterday alone, it added.
