Bhubaneswar, May 14: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will distribute KALIA assistance of Rs 2,000 to about 53 lakh farmers this evening on the eve of Akshaya Tritiya. Last time, peasants had been given KALIA Assistance on the Utkal Divas, April 1, 2021.
“The Chief Minister will launch distribution of the second installment of this year’s KALIA assistance at 5 pm today. Rs 2,000 will be credited to bank accounts of enlisted farmers. About 53 lakh famers will get the benefit,” said Government sources.
Notably, the Chief Minister had sanctioned 1,272 crore for distribution of KALIA aid to farmers in three installments in the current year. The State Government had announced to provide Rs 6,000 in three installments to each eligible farmer under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme.
A few months before 2019 general elections, the Odisha Government had announced the scheme to provide financial support to farmers to undertake Khariff and Rabi cultivations.
