Bhubaneswar, April 23: In a major development, the Odisha Government on Friday announced one-hour relaxation from 5 am to 6 am during the weekend shutdown in the urban areas of the State starting from April 24.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena said the weekend shutdown on Saturdays and Sundays will be relaxed from 5 am to 6 am with effective from tomorrow to allow people to go for a morning walk, jogging and cycling.
“The night curfew from 9 pm of Friday will continue till 5 am on Saturday and thereafter weekend shutdown will be imposed from 6 am after the one-hour relaxation for fitness activities. The shutdown will continue till 5 am on Monday,” Jena said.
However, all the essential services and permitted activities will be allowed during the night curfew and two-day long shutdown period, he added.
The State Government has imposed the weekend shutdown in all urban areas of the State to contain the possible spread of Covid-19.
