Lekhasri said youths have been betrayed by the Odisha Government.
Even as they are in charge of execution of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Minister Pratap Jena and Secretary DK Singh have failed to deliver. While the scheme is funded by the Centre and the State at 60:40, the Panchayati Raj Department misappropriated all the funds, she said.
She questioned why BN Das has been working as ORMAS chief for the last 21 years.
While the State Government claims to have given training to 1.31 lakh students and jobs to 97,198, the CAG report reveals 77% of the claims untrue. She said 95 project screening agencies were entrusted the responsibility, but 26 of them absconded after taking the first instalment money. Rs 76 crore has been given to four ineligible agencies.
“Had youths been given jobs under the DDY-GKY, our youths would not have gone outside in search of job. The matter should be investigated and actions should be taken against the errant at the earliest,” demanded Samantsinghar.
