While the State had sent 49 tankers containing about 869 metric tonnes of medical oxygen to other States by yesterday, the number of tankers rose to 67 and total oxygen supplied to 1,268 metric tonnes.
“So far, 67 tankers/containers carrying 1,268 MT medical oxygen escorted from Rourkela, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul to seven States- Uttar Pradesh, Mandhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Telangana, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra,” said the Odisha Police.
More medical oxygen tankers will also leave for other States soon, added the Odisha Police, which has created a dedicated corridor for prompt and unhindered movement of LOM without delay.
While Yashawant Jethwa is working as nodal officer, district SPs and other senior offices are supervising the movement personally within their jurisdiction.
It may be noted that oxygen being supplied by Odisha has become a big help for saving life of serious Covid patients in the above mentioned States as they are running short of oxygen.
Odisha is producing 350 MT oxygen daily against its per-day need of 35 MT, according to the Industries Secretary Hemant Sharma.
