Nuapada, Feb 15: A Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch arrested two persons and seized a Leopard skin and huge cache of arms and ammunition from their possession in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Monday.
The accused persons have been identified as Subrana Singh Deo and Saman Singh Majhi, residents of Khariar town in the district.
As per reports, the STF intercepted the vehicle in which the accused persons were travelling in near Palasapada Chhak under Sinapali police limits in the district this morning.
While searching the vehicle, the STF recovered a Leopard skin and huge cache of arms and ammunition from the vehicle, and subsequently seized the wildlife product, weapons and the vehicle.
The STF also arrested two occupants of the vehicle as they failed to produce any licence or authentic documents to carry the wildlife product and weapons in the vehicle.
“The accused persons have been booked under Wildlife Protection Act and IPC. They will be forwarded to the court later in the day. Further investigation is on,” an official said.
