The convict has been identified as Arjun Kurti.
The court directed the District Legal Services Authority to pay Rs five lakh as compensation to the survivor. The judge pronounced the judgment after examining 24 witnesses and circumstance evidence, informed public prosecutor Ramesh Mohanty.
The incident had taken place in 2018 in Cuttack Phase-II police station area. Later, the victim’s family filed a written complaint at the police station. Basing on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested Arjun.
