According to the information, the victim, Alok Malla had booked an e-bike of a reputed company on its mobile application. After completion of his booking, he received a call from an unknown number, who asked him to share account details in order to confirm the booking.
Unware of being trapped by the cyber fraudsters, Alok shared his bank details with the unknown caller. As soon as he shared the bank details, the cyber criminals, Rs 48,500 was debited from his account in two phases.
The victim then called the number to inquiry about his order status, but no response came for the other end.
Finding no other way, Alok filed a written complaint at the Cyber Police station, basing on which the cyber cops registered a case and launched a probe.
