Speaking to mediapersons in Bhubaneswar, the Minister said, ““The State government will likely to conduct the Matric and Plus-II annual examinations this academic year, tentatively in April next year,”
The Minister also said that the state government may cancel the annual Matric and Plus II examinations if a decision in this regard is taken at the all-India level. The state government however will not cancel the examinations of its own, he added.
The State government is now planning to reopen the schools and colleges after December 31 and the examination schedule will be prepared after three months, the Minister said.
The syllabus for Class 10 and 12 students will be minimised as there are no classes for 10 months since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he further said.
Although the State government has introduced online education, a sizeable number of students particularly in rural areas find difficulties in availing online education due to unavailability of internet facilities and disruption of power supply.
