Odisha Police collected Rs 14.58 crore fine from 4.76 lakh Covid violators in the last two months. A total of 1,332 persons arrested, 29,000 vehicles seized, 3,500 shops sealed & 278 cases registered during this period.
Bhubaneswar, Jun 10: The Odisha Police collected a total fine of Rs 14.58 crore from 4.76 lakh people who violated COVID safety protocols at public places in the State in the last two months, i.e. April and May 2021.
Additional Director General (ADG) of Police Yashwant Jethwa informed this on Thursday.
Jethwa also informed that a total of 1,332 persons were arrested for not using masks and maintaining social distancing and riding vehicles in violation of Covid rules. A total of 29,000 vehicles were seized during the last two months, he said.
Besides, 3,500 shops were sealed for violation of Covid safety norms. As many as 278 cases were registered during this period, Jethwa informed further.
