Odisha today confirmed 45 more deaths due to Covid-19, the highest reported in a single day so far, taking the toll to 3,080.
Bhubaneswar, June 8: As many as 45 people succumbed to Covid-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours while undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the State, informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department on Tuesday.
This is the highest death due to Covid-19 in a single day in the State so far.
The fresh fatalities have been reported one each from the districts of Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, and Nayagarh; two each from Bargarh and Rayagada; three each from Boudh and Jharsuguda; four each from Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sundargarh; five each from Cuttack and Kalahandi; and six from Khordha.
With this, the death toll of the State due to Covid-19 reached to 3,080.
The State today reported as many as 5,896 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the Covid cases tally of the State 8,25,110.
Khordha district recorded the maximum number of fresh cases at 853, followed by Jajpur at 413, Angul at 385, Balasore at 373 and Cuttack at 349.
