“The Naveen Patnaik Government has no concern about students’ future. During its 21 years in governance, the Government has sold out jobs. Massive irregularities in the State Staff Selection Commission has come to the fore after arrest of Commission Member’s PA,” alleged Odisha Student Congress president Yasir Nawaz at a Press meet here on Sunday.
He demanded that top officials of the OSSC be brought under purview of investigation and victimised candidates given justice at the earliest.
Regarding Mahanga double murder case, he said there can’t be a fair probe unless and until accused local MLA and Law Minister Pratap Jena is in office. “We demand Pratap Jena be ousted from Council of Ministers so that a fair probe can be held in the Mahanga double murder case,” said Nawaz.
He too wanted to know why Jena’s name was deleted from the charge-sheet filed at the JMFC, Salipur.
Nawaz said the Student Congress activists would gherao State Assembly on September7 (Tuesday) if the demands are not met by then.
