The held persons include retired professor of Sambalpur University Keshab Panda and his two sons identified as Durgesh Panda and Dinesh Panda.
As per the report, a verbal duel erupted between the former professor and a local resident Rahul Sharma over a disputed piece of land in the morning which took shape of a clash subsequently.
Later, Sharma was joined by two of his aides namely Basant Nayak and Madhu Singh while Panda’s two sons Durgesh and Dinesh reached out to help him.
During the clash, one of the sons of Panda wielded a double barrel rifle to threaten the rival party, a video regarding which went viral on the Internet subsequently.
After coming across the video, police swung into action and arrested the retired professor, his two sons and rest three from his rival party.
From the preliminary investigation it has come to notice that the seized gun is owned by the retired professor, who holds a license for the same also.
