Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik said his party opposes cancellation of Question Hour from the list of everyday businesses of the House. “We don’t accept cancellation of the important Question Hour. Various problems of people are discussed during this one-hour period. Members will be deprived of raising people’s issues and getting response from the Government,” said Naik.
Naik also said his party will raise issues of drinking water problems, large scale vacancies in teacher and doctor posts, border disputes, law and order situation, power tariff hike and transfer of the Ekamra Kanan land to the General Administration Department.
Congress Legislature Party Leader Narasingha Mishra said his party will raise issues of faulty paddy procurement system, hike in electricity tariff, disastrous law and order situation, unemployment, rampant smuggling of contraband items and the alleged Covid scam.
“The Government is yet to procure paddy from all farmers. The system of procurement is very faulty. The hike in electricity tariff has put extra financial burden on common consumers. Goons are active in broad daylight. Crime graph has gone up. The trade of ganja and brown sugar is going on rampantly. The Congress will demand discussion on all these issues,” said Mishra.
