Cuttack, Feb 16: The Orissa High Court has allowed controversial self-styled Godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Roul to deliver pravachans (spiritual sermons) with Covid norms.
Te Court has however put restrictions on the number of participants in the pravachans and directed that spiritual leader can preach to a maximum of 200 people at a particular time adhering to strict observance of Covid norms including maintaining of social distance.
Born in Ganjam, Sarathi was accused of sexually and physically assaulting women and defrauding his followers by misusing religious practices.
The controversial Godman was arrested by the Crime Branch from his Barimula Ashram in Kendrapara district on August 8, 2015. He was granted bail on July 22, 2019.
