The looted jeweller, Ramesh Chandra Sahoo of Kalarajhar village, has lodged a complaint with the Jankia police.
According to information, the jeweller was returning home after closing his shop last night when three miscreants coming on a KTR bike intercepted him and attacked him all of a sudden. They then snatched away gold and silver ornaments and hard cash from him.
Ramesh cried out for help. He then informed the matter to a shopkeeper at Chhanagiri towards which the miscreants fled. Though some youths gathered at Chhanagiri to nab the miscreants, the latter took to another way and managed to flee leaving behind their motorbike near crematorium there.
After preliminary treatment, injured Ramesh Sahu lodged a complaint with the police. Police have seized the motorcycle and are trying to trace out the miscreants.
