--Tokyo Paralympics gold medallist Pramod Bhagat was given a rousing reception at Bargarh town today. He had been welcomed in a grand way at his native town Attabira yesterday.
Bargarh, Sep 22: Tokyo Paralympics gold medallist Pramod Bhagat was given a rousing reception at Bargarh town, his own home turf, by people from different walks of life and various social and cultural organisations.
Bhagat had won gold in the badminton event in the Tokoy Paralympics 20 and brought laurels to the country, home State Odisha and home district Bargarh as well.
Bhagat moved in a splendorous tanga, waving hands and accepting flower bouquets from people amid beating of drums and trumpets. The lone slogan “Pramod Bhagat Zindabad’, as shouted by fans again and again, vibrated the entire procession route.
“I have no words to thank people of my village and district. I offer my pranam crores of times to them for welcoming me,” said Bhagat.
Notably, Bhagat had been welcomed in a grand way at his native town Attabira yesterday.
“We are proud that a son of Bargarh district has won a gold medal in Olympics and amplified dignity of the country worldwide,” said a resident of Attabira.
