Cuttack, Jan 12: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the minor girl murder case of Nayagarh on Tuesday could not submit a complete status report before the Orissa High Court and sought more time for the same.
The SIT made the plea while a bench of the High Court conducted a hearing in the Paree killing case. Considering the plea, the court directed the SIT to complete the investigation and submit a complete status report on the next day of hearing on March 25.
The High Court opened the first report of the SIT and went through it during the hearing today.
On the other hand, petitioner Padmalaya Mohapatra filed another affidavit today. Through her lawyer, she wished to know why an ossification test was conducted on the arrested minor accused to know about his age when all ‘related’ papers had been seized from his house.
The SIT knowingly arrested the minor boy by terming him as a major, the petitioner alleged and prayed that the court should order suspension of the SIT as "it submitted false information in the court."
