Nayagarh, Jan 4: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the brutal murder of a five-year-old girl of Nayagarh district in Odisha on Monday filed a petition in a POCSO court here seeking permission to conduct the Narco analysis test of the accused.
The POCSO court will take up the petition for hearing tomorrow, sources said.
Earlier SIT chief Arun Bothra said that the accused, identified as Saroj Sethi of Jadupur village in the district, had strangulated minor girl Pari to death and tried to sexual assault with the dead body of the girl before dumping her near a pond in the village on July 14 last year.
“Prime accused Saroj Sethi had strangulated the five-year-old girl to death and attempted to sexual assault the dead body of the minor girl before dumping her near a pond in Jadupur village of the district,” Bothra had said.
On the other hand, Saroj’s lawyer today filed a petition before the court to treat the accused as a juvenile by submitting his birth certificate and matriculation certificate, claiming that he was a minor on the day of the incident.
