A patient was allegedly broke the windshield of a moving ambulance and jumped off the vehicle in Odisha’s Angul district on Saturday.
Angul, Jul 17: A patient was allegedly broke the windshield of a moving ambulance and jumped off the vehicle in Odisha’s Angul district on Saturday.
The incident occurred on NH 55 near Kulad village in the district when the patient was being shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) here from Banrapal-based Tata Steel BSL Occupational Health Services (OHS) hospital.
As per reports, the patient was admitted to the Tata Steel hospital in Banarpal due to his ill health. He was being shifted to the DHH for higher treatment.
In the midway, the patient allegedly broke the windshield of the ambulance on the NH on NH 55 near Kulad village, following which the driver stopped the vehicle and parked on road side of the highway.
As soon as the ambulance stopped on roadside, the patient allegedly jumped off the ambulance through the broken windshield and fled from the spot.
The ambulance supervisor chased the patient, but in vain.
On being informed, local police reached the spot and launched a manhunt to find the missing patient.
