Today, five patrolling motorbikes were inaugurated at the Police Commissioner’s office here.
Unveiling the bikes, Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi said patrolling bikes will move around the city during Dussehra puja in order to check crimes in both Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. While three patrolling bikes are meant for Cuttack, two are for the capital city, said Mishra.
The bikes are fitted with siren, police light and mikes.
“Keeping rush during Puja, the patrolling bikes have been put in service. Bikes can reach any cornor of streets at an ease and thwart criminals and control crowd,” said Priyadarshi.
It may be noted that large crowds are expected at Puja Pandals in both Cuttack and Bhubaneswar this year. Puja celebrations were halted for the last two years in view of Covid pandemic.
