Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik on Sunday severely criticized the power companies and the State Government for putting a financial burden on consumers by increasing power tariff by 30 paisa per unit.
“It is very disappointing that power tariff has been increased by 30 paisa per unit and common power consumers are going to suffer. Power tariff has been increased to make up losses occurring out of inefficiencies of power companies and the State Government,” said Patnaik.
He said power companies and the State Government have failed to check transmission of 30% in the State. “While national capital city Delhi has a transmission loss of 8% only, Odisha continues to have 30% loss in transmission. Power companies and the State Government have failed to check the loss. They have been putting the burden on common people,” contended Patnaik.
