Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Tuesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding inclusion of at least 25 people from different sections of the society in Odisha in the high-level committee formed by Centre to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose nationwide on January 23.
“Though there are 85 members in the PM-led committee, only three of them belong to Odisha. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack and completed his school education in the city. As his birthplace is in our State, Odisha should have more representatives in the committee,” wrote Patnaik.
Patnaik urged the Prime Minister to include at least 25 people from Odisha in the committee, including Governor of Odisha, Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and distinguished citizens, authors, journalists and historians.
