According to reports, a few photographs featuring the main temple and taken from the ‘Gumuta’ (a small temple) located near the Southern Gate (Aswadwara) of Srimandir are doing rounds on the free online photo sharing application’ Instagram' for last couple of days.
These photos posted on February 2 this year could be accessed on the ‘India Temples’ ID on Instagram.
While the surfacing of the photos has exposed the poor security arrangements at the 12th Century shrine, the authorities have taken the same with a serious note.
Worth mentioning, it is not for the first time that the photographs of Srimandir premises have gone viral on the Internet. In November 2018, one Hitesh Sonani from Gujarat during his visit to Puri had clicked photos the interiors of the temple and uploaded on his Facebook account. Similarly, on November 4 in the same year, a woman tourist from Bengaluru, identified as Megha Luthra had made the temple photos viral on social media.
