Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan accompanied the Prime Minister during his visit.
Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal, CM Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Pratap Sarangi, State Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and other senior officials of the State were present at the airport to receive PM Modi.
The Prime Minister will hold a review meeting with the Chief Minister, Union Ministers and concerned officials at the airport before undertaking an aerial survey of the cyclone-affected areas.
PM Modi will undertake an aerial survey in Odisha’s Balasore, Bhadrak and West Bengal's Purba Medinipur. He will then hold a review meeting in West Bengal.
On Thursday, PM Modi reviewed the impact of Cyclone Yaas at a meeting during which he asked the Central and States agencies to ensure that normal life is restored in the affected areas at the earliest.

While restoration work in all cyclone affected districts is in progress, there are reports of a couple of rivers in North Odisha districts swelling due to excess water intake.
Cyclone Yaas made landfall at around 9.15 am on Wednesday near Dhamra port in Odisha. The storm caused massive damage to roads, houses and farmlands in both the States.
