Bhubaneswar, May 28: Prime Minister Narendramodi on Friday undertook an aerial survey to review the situation in the wake of Cyclone Yaas that hit parts of Odisha and West Bengal on May 26.
Before undertaking the aerial view, the Prime Minister in the presence of CM Naveen Patnaik and Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal chaired a meeting to review the impact of Cyclone Yaas in Odisha as well as several other aspects related to relief, rehabilitation and restoring livelihoods in the cyclone-hit areas.
The PM reassured that his government will continue to work together and will extend all the support to Odisha in mitigating the impact of Cyclone Yaas, further strengthening disaster preparedness and building a disaster resilient Odisha.
During the review, the Prime Minister also appreciated the proactive role of the Central and state agencies as well as the unimpeachable spirit of the people of Odisha in braving and effectively dealing with the challenges posed by the Cyclone Yaas.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan thanked the Prime Minister for always standing in solidarity with the people of Odisha, especially during the most vulnerable times.
