Puri, Mar 29: In a commendable effort, police foiled a dacoity bid in the bypoll bound Pipili last night and seized arms and ammunitions in huge quantity from the spot.
As per the report, Delang Police got a tip-off on a gang of dacoits who were planning to loot the Haripur Gramya Bank late in the night. It carried a raid at their den immediately.
Though the four-member gang managed to give police a slip during the crackdown, four motorcycles looted from different places, five live country-made bombs and a number of sharp weapons were seized from the spot.
Efforts are underway to trace the absconding members of the gang they would be caught soon, informed Delang Police Station IIC Rashmi Ranjan Patnaik.
