According to information, local police were informed about presence of a group of Red rebels at a secluded place there from a reliable source. The police then initiated a combing operation. While police asked them to surrender, the Maoists opened fire at them first. This led to an exchange of fire between them.
The combing operation led by Bolagir SP Nitin Kuslakar has been intensified. Locals are in a state of fear now.
