Positivity rate to dip to 5% by June 17: Dr Mishra
Bhubaneswar, Jun 4: Noted health expert Dr Niroj Mishra on Friday said the test positivity rate (TPR) in the State will come down to 5% by end of the current lockdown i.e June 17.
“Corona infection in the second wave has already crossed the peak in the State. The test positive rate is on the decline now. TPR remained 11.2 per cent today. It is expected to come down to 5% by end of the lockdown,” said Dr Mishra.
He said the Government will certainly relax lockdown once the TPC goes below 5%. To lead Covid-free life, people have to strictly follow Covid safety protocols, he contended.
He said the Government has taken advanced steps to fight out the possible third wave of the coronavirus. The intensity of the third wave will be lesser than the second wave. About two crore people will be infected and 40,000 will succumb, he said quoting reports.
