In a series of tweets, Pradhan said that the next 15 days is crucial in order to contain and control the surge of the, especially in Odisha. He suggested the Chief Minister to involve members of the civil society as volunteers and watchdogs to strengthen relief measures and containment efforts at the grassroots level.
The Union Minister also requested the Chief Minister to set up a Covid crisis management committee at the village and municipal ward level comprising members from all political parties in Odisha to facilitate synergised efforts for effective management of Covid-19.
The Chief Minister also spoke to the Union Minister regarding the enhancement of the availability of vaccines in the State.
In addition, Pradhan also told the Chief Minister about his discussion with Union Ministers Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Mansukh Mandaviya on extending all possible support to Odisha, including facilitating smooth supply of Covid-19 vaccine doses, rapid testing kits, Remdesivir, and other critical drugs in the battle against the virus.
“GOI is working with a ‘whole of government approach’ and is doing everything possible to respond and fight back better. Working together with synergistic efforts, both Odisha and India will combat and win this fight against the pandemic. Together, we shall prevail,” Pradhan tweeted.
Today, Odisha reported as many as 10,982 new COVID-19 cases and 17 more deaths, according to the State Health and Family Welfare Department.
At present, the State has 98,230 active cases.
