The Union Minister will make aerial survey of Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, Aul and Rajnagar in Kendrapara and Basudevpur, Chandbali and Dhamara area in Bhadrak to take stock of the impact of Cyclone Yaas, they added.
After conducting an aerial survey, Pradhan is scheduled to land at helipad of Dhamra port at 11 am. Then, he will visit the cyclone-hit areas of Diosinga, Jagula and Dhamara Gram Panchyats and meet the affected residents.
On Friday, Pradhan accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Odisha and West Bengal to assess the impact of Cyclone Yaas in the two States.
PM Modi on Friday announced financial assistance of Rs 500 crore for Odisha. He said the Centre will deploy an inter-ministerial team to visit the State to assess the extent of damage, based on which further assistance will be granted.
While restoration work in all cyclone affected districts is in progress, there are reports of a couple of rivers in North Odisha districts swelling due to excess water intake.
Cyclone Yaas made landfall at around 9.15 am on Wednesday near Dhamra port in Odisha. The storm caused massive damage to roads, houses and farmlands in Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatinghpur and Balasore districts of the State.
