Publish whitepaper on action against political killings: BJP State chief writes to DGP
Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: BJP State president Samir Mohanty on Thursday wrote to Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay seeking a whitepaper on the steps taken by Odisha police against Mahanga murder with special mention that why Law Minister Pratap Jena, who is an accused in the case, has not been brought to purview of investigation yet.
Mohanty also wanted that a detailed investigation be done into the death of main accused, Prafulla Biswal, in the killing of BJP leaders Kulamani Baral and Dibyasingha Baral due to a reported road accident and the report revealed in the whitepaper.
“What to say about the Law Minister’s arrest, the police have not even brought the Law Minister into the purview of investigation under the pressure of the ruling party. Prafulla Biswal was kept in underground by the Minister. His death triggers suspicion. All these matters need to be clarified. Let a whitepaper be published to make people know about action taken by the police in the political killings,” Mohanty urged the DGP.
He wanted to know how Biswal’s bike, helmet and mobile phone remained undamaged even as he died in a road accident on the spot.
“Law and order situation has worsened in the State. Mahanga killings have occurred out of political rivalry. How long BJP leaders will be victimised of political killing,” questioned Mohanty.
