Puri, Aug 4: In what can be termed as very happy news for devotees of Shree Jagannath, the Shreemandir will reopen for devotees from August 16. A decision to this effect was taken at a Chhattisha Nijog meeting held here today.
“In view of an improvement in the Covid19 situation, the Chhattisha Nijog today decided that the Shreemandir will reopen from August 16,” said Krishan Kumar, Chief of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration.
Kumar, who presided over the meeting, said residents of Puri will be given opportunity first to have Darshan of the Trinity for five days from August 16. Devotees from all places will be allowed entry to the shrine from August 23, he said.
Production of Covid negative report through RT-PCR test in the last 48 hours or production of certificate of two doses of vaccines will be required to enter the Shreemandir, said Kumar.
Sanitization work will be undertaken in the temple campus for two days on August 21 and 22.
