However, the rituals of the religious institutions will be performed adhering to Covid-19 guidelines, said the BMC.
“No devotees shall be allowed inside the religious institutions like Temples, Mosques, Gurudwaras and Churches etc. until further order,” the order reads.
“The usual religious rituals in Temples, Mosques, Gurudwaras, Churches and other places of worships will be conducted with limited number of priests and staffs,” it added.
The civic body also directed the religious institutions management committees to make provisions for daily thermal screening of priests and staffs before entry inside the premises.
It also asked the priests and staffs to wear masks and maintain social distancing inside the religious institution premises.
On Sunday, the BMC restricted entry of devotees in the Lingaraj Temple in the city till further order after a number of servitors of the shrine tested Covid-19 positive.
Yesterday, the State Capital reported as many as 468 fresh Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the active cases of the city to 2,827.
