Cuttack, Jan 4: Temples and all other religious institutions will reopen for devotees across Cuttack district soon, informed district Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani on Monday.
Chayani said decision for reopening of religious shrines will be taken after January 7.
“A standard operating procedure will be issued for reopening of temples and other religious institutions,” said Chayani.
It may be noted that famous Dhabelesar Temple, Maa Cuttack Chandi Temple are among thousands of Hindu temples are located in Cuttack district. Besides, the millennium city is home to many temples, mosques, churches etc. All religious shrines have remained closed for the last nine months in view of Covid-19 pandemic.
Panchuka and Bada Osha of Lord Dhabaleswar were held sans devotees, while the famous Baliyatra had been stopped altogether in the month of Kartika for the pandemic.
