Mohapatra was speaking to the mediapersons on the current Covid situation in the State when claimed that keeping infection at bay is quite possible if one follows safety guidelines properly.
“Mask plays a vital role in checking the spread of Corona. One should try to keep away from crowd. Use of masks has been made mandatory after reoccurrence of Covid in States like Delhi and Punjab. Similar step is likely to be taken in Odisha if infection shoots up,” informed Mohapatra.
Assuring that Odisha is well prepared health infrastructure wise to tackle any situation arising out of the new Covid wave, the Health Director claimed medicine and Oxygen is available in enough quantity in the State.
The Covid infrastructure could be expanded in the coming days if situation demands so, he added.
In his advice to parents of school going children, Mohapatra suggested them keep a watch on the health status of their lads. If symptoms like cold and fever is detected then test and isolation of the children must be done by schools and parents immediately.
However, he maintained that all cold and fever are not associated with Covid.
