Cuttack, Apr 8: On first day of special Covid enforcement drive, the Odisha Police acted against 9,400 persons for not adhering to Covid guidelines in public places across the State and collected over Rs 25 lakh from them as fine.
They didn’t use mask and maintain social distancing while in public places. A total fine of Rs 25,07,900 were collected during the last 24 hours, said the Odisha Police.
It also informed that 136 platoon forces have been engaged in the State for enforcement measures.
District SPs/ DCPs and senior officers are leading the special drive. “We urge all to observe Covid appropriate behaviour,” said the Odisha Police.
It may be noted that the Odisha Police have launched the special Covid enforcement drive on the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The drive will continue for 10 days in the State.
