Sambalpur, Jun 5: Noted Sambalpur actor Atal Bihari Panda, well known for his epic performance in ‘Sala Budha’ movie passed away while being under treatment at Burla hospital in the wee hours on Saturday. He was 92.
Panda died of multiple organ failure at 3.45 am today while being treated for septicaemia and geriatric ailments, says report.
A few days back the veteran Sambalpur actor had been admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Medical College and Hospital (VIMSAR), Burla by his family members. Since then his condition didn’t improve.
A native of Binika in Subarnapur district, Panda had acted in over 100 plays apart from penning more than 65 dramas in Sambalpur language.
He gave marvellous performance in Sabyasachi Mohapatra’s ‘Sala Budha’ movie in 2013 to win awards in several categories in Odisha Film Award. The movie was his debut in Sambalpur feature film.
