The heritage walk was organised by the “Samartha”, a newly registered social organisation, from the Lingaraj Temple to Kedargoouri Temple.
“The heritage walk was organised in a small patch today. All 4.5 crore Odia people feel proud of the temple city. Our identity is out temples and mutts. We must conserve and protect them. The heritage walk, which is meant to create awareness in this regard, will be orgainsed in bigger ways in coming days,” said MP Aparajita Sarangi, who participated in the rally.
The participants were seen holding placards with allegations that heritage structures are being destroyed in the name beautification by the State Government. ,
Among others, Samatha vice-president Shashanka Sekhar Sahoo and general secretary Kulamani Rout were present.
