Cuttack, Feb 8: Hundreds of BSc nursing students of the SCB Medical College and Hospital here forcibly entered the hostel for stay as the authorities failed to reopen the boarding house even though it has seized to be used as Covid 19 Isolation Ward for many days now.
Notably, the nursing hostel had been converted into a Covid 19 Isolation Ward in March last year for keeping suspected Covid infected people and providing treatment to them.
“Nursing hostels have reopened in all Government medical college and hospital, excepting the SCB MCH. Despite out repeated requests, the authorities have not reopened. With no option left, we have decided to enter the premises and occupy our rooms,” said students.
Meanwhile, the SCB authorities said the nursing students will stay on their own risk till will take a final decision after seven days.
