Bhubaneswar, Apr 15: In view of sharp rise in Covid cases, the State Government on Thursday declared to promote students of Class IX and XI to next classes, Class X and XII, respectively, this year.
A release from Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said the Class IX and XI students will not need to sit for promotional examinations this year.
Besides, the Government also announced to postpone the Class X and XII board examinations scheduled this year.
The CM directed the School and Mass Education Department to suspend all the classes of 10th and 12th with effect from April 19.
All schools and hostels will remain closed from Monday.
The Government will conduct a review meeting on in June 1st week to take further decision regarding the examinations.
It may be noted that High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations-2021 and Plus (XII) examinations were scheduled to be held from May 3 and 18, respectively.
